Falafel

Falafel:
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups chickpeas
  • 1 bunch cilantro chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp crushed black pepper
  • 2 to 3 cups off corn oil
Method: Rinse chickpeas and soak the chickpeas overnight Next day, drain most of the water, combine chickpeas, cilantro and onion. Grind into a coarse paste in a blender or a food processor. Add salt and pepper as needed.Pour sesame seeds into a plate. Make small patties, about 2" wide and 1/2" thick, and flip in the sesame seeds to coat both sides. Heat oil in a frying pan until hot. add patties in batches, flipping when on side browns. Drain falafel on paper towels.
Serving Tips: Serve with salad and pitas bread cut wedges.
